Emmanuel Johnson is a Computing Innovation Fellow at the USC Information Sciences Institute, where his work focuses on building AI systems to teach interpersonal skills. In 2022, he served as Deputy Chair of the Tapia Doctoral Consortium. Emmanuel holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Southern California, a Master in Robotics from the University of Birmingham in England, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from North Carolina A&T. He is a Fulbright Scholar and was the recipient of a National Science Foundation (NSF) Graduate Research Fellowship, and recently inducted into the New Brunswick High School Hall of Distinguished Alumni. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc, the National Society of Black Engineers, the American Association for Artificial Intelligence, and the Association for Computing Machinery.
