Austin Hernandez (he/they) works as a Lead Product Designer at 18F, a technology and design consultancy for the U.S. government, partnering with Federal agencies to improve processes and technology to better serve communities. Most recently he worked as the lead designer for findtreatment.gov and beta.ada.gov.
For the past 15 years, Austin worked in the U.S. and Europe designing, coding, and conducting research in roles across the design field. He led teams, projects, internship programs, employee resource groups, and DE&I efforts at startups, corporations, nonprofits, and government. Austin sits on the board of directors for Maven Youth, a nonprofit that empowers LGBTQ+ youth to use technology for social change.
