Yerika Jimenez is a Ph.D. student in Human-Centered Computing and a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Florida. Her research interests include Computer Science Education and Learning Technologies. She is interested in understanding how students learn Computer Science (CS) in block-based programming environments. Specifically, she is interested in understanding how upper elementary students learn how to debug and how they build debugging mental models. Yerika is also passionate about diversity, inclusion, and mentoring students, especially 1st generation college students. Yerika served as the RESPECT 2020 Volunteer Chair where she organized graduate students to serve as conference volunteers.
