CJ Barberan
CJ Barberan is a PhD candidate at Rice University working under Richard Baraniuk. CJ’s research interests are involved in machine learning primarily focusing on computer vision. For instance, he is currently working on intrepretable machine learning methods as well as deep reinforcement learning. CJ is also fortunate to have been awarded multiple fellowships while he is in graduate school: National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship, National Defense and Science Engineering Graduate Fellowship, and GEM Fellowship. In addition, he was awarded Ford Foundation Pre-Doctoral Fellowship and the Intel Foundation Fellowship from Great Minds in STEM.

CJ has had previous roles at Rice University to focus on improving technical presentations. For instance, he will serve as a mentor to the first year students preparing for their qualifiers and aid them in delivering great technical presentations.
