Dr. Sherri L. Sanders, NCWIT Research Scientist and Extension Services Director, has over 30 years of experience in higher education as a senior-level student affairs and diversity administrator. As Associate Vice President for Inclusion and Equity and Associate Dean of Students at The University of Texas at Austin, Sanders, in alignment with her research interests, led campus-wide diversity and inclusion efforts, working in collaboration with colleges and departments to develop, implement, and evaluate their strategic diversity and inclusion plans. Sanders co-led a three-year NSF pilot research study to examine the efficacy of the Learning Circles model. The study’s external evaluator reported that the fourteen participating departments increased their strategic planning, accountability, and sustainability of change efforts and identified positive organizational changes that will increase the meaningful participation of women in computing.
