Rachel Bloch Mellon is the Chief Technology Officer at Byteboard, on a mission to change technical interviews to be more efficient, effective, and equitable for all. Prior to joining Byteboard in early 2018, Rachel was a Software Engineer on a Google Maps server and API team. Rachel’s passion for increasing representation in engineering has led to her role as a Teaching Fellow for classrooms of 30 students at Google’s Computer Science Summer Institute (CSSI), an immersive CS education program focused on students from historically underrepresented communities in tech. She is also a facilitator of teacher trainings for ~100 instructors across CSSI program locations. From 2012 to 2016, Rachel served on the executive team for she++, a 501(c)(3) focused on empowering underrepresented groups in tech, founding the flagship #include Fellowship Program, spearheading the “Give 2 cents, Take 2 cents” (G2T2) campaign at GHC 2014 in partnership with AnitaB.org, and serving as she++ Co-Director. Rachel holds a BS in Computer Science with a concentration in Information from Stanford University.
