Richard E. Ladner is a Professor Emeritus in the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington. After many years of research in theoretical computer science, he turned his attention to accessibility research, especially technology for deaf, deaf-blind, hard-of-hearing, and blind people. In addition, he promotes the inclusion of persons with disabilities in computing fields. He is the Principal Investigator for the NSF-funded AccessComputing Alliance, which aims to increase the participation of people with disabilities in computing fields, and AccessCSforAll, which works to increase the successful participation of students with disabilities in K-12 computing.
