Birds of a Feather
TimeThursday, September 1712:30pm - 1:15pm
LocationBryant York Auditorium
DescriptionHaving a voice, or being able to express your true self and experiences, is important for any successful career. The voice is important as it provides additional perspectives critical for innovations. The voice, however, requires strength and confidence in one's perspective. This is very important for Black Women in computing, where the numbers are very small. This session will feature a dialogue between two well known and well respected Black Women in Computing, Dr. Jamika Burge and Dr. Nicki Washington, talking about their paths to having a strong voice in computing. After the initial dialogue, the session will include questions from the audience.
