To our peers in the Jewish community:

We deeply apologize for the conflict in scheduling of this year's Tapia Conference. Yom Kippur, which falls on day two of our event, is the Day of Atonement - the holiest day of the year in the Jewish faith. It is a day when many strive to separate as much as possible from the day-to-day world, through reflection, fasting, attending services, gathering with family, and atoning for wrongs done to ourselves and to others.

What is the solution?

We recognize that Yom Kippur is sacred and offers a time for people of the Jewish faith to step back and to step away. To honor this day, we will record all conference sessions and make the recordings  available to anyone who missed the opportunity to join in real-time.

Our commitment:

Our community’s strength comes from its diversity and we strive to be an example to other organizations. CMD-IT creates a safe environment regardless of one’s ethnicity, race, gender identity, culture, disability, or creed.

Together, we work with our leadership team, our board, and the organization’s partners to ensure our programming reflects the diversity we want in computing and tech. We may not always get it right, but our intentions are always honorable and we are always willing and ready to learn.

As we navigate through the complexity of the computing and tech industry, we continue to raise the voices of our community, inspire innovation and command our place in the future. We’re always willing and eager to hear from our community on how we can better live our values.
