Biography
Jason M. Grant is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Middlebury College. His research areas include computer vision, focusing on detection of dangerous and abnormal crowd behavior in large crowds, and biometrics, specifically in the area of face recognition, including the study of identical twins and hierarchical structure of facial features (gender, ethnicity, and race). Prior to joining Middlebury, he was a Deans’ Fellow at the University of Notre Dame, where he obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. as a member of the Computer Vision Research Lab. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), as a Meyerhoff Scholarship recipient. Outside of the office you can find him at the gym, playing the piano, or in the woods with his dog, Winter.
